Wordless Wednesday is a daily
prompt at Geneabloggers that asks family historians to create a post in which
the main focus is a photograph or image.
When my dad was stationed aboard the Coast Guard Cutter
Eastwind in 1946-47, he took pictures
of his shipmates during tours to Thule, Greenland but didn’t provide names.
Maybe the family of these sailors will find my blog and share their
story.

Wendy, good idea to post the photos on your blog. Good luck putting names to the photos.
ReplyDeleteIt would be something, wouldn't it?!
DeleteNice looking man. I hope the family finds you!
ReplyDeleteIt's a cool photo.
DeleteHe is a nice looking man, and I hope your plan works!
ReplyDeleteWe have lots of weeks to find out.
DeleteWhat a great idea Wendy! Hopefully the family members of your dad's shipmates will find and identify these photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jana. I hope they do too!
DeleteOh I hope that someone finds this photo. And I hope someone with my family's photos (surely there is someone!) decides to the do the same.
ReplyDeleteI had never considered the possibility that someone out there in cyberland could be posting photos of my family but I just don't know it. Wouldn't that be fantastic!
DeleteThat's a great photo and hopefully someone will come forward some day and identify him. My husband's grandfather passed away a year and a half ago and we have since found several very tiny, postage stamp sized photos of those in the navy in WWII with him. I might try posting them, too!
