This photo was given to me by a great-grandchild of
Leanna Jollett and James Mitchell Knight, but which one I cannot remember. It
is labeled “Grandchildren of Leanna Knight,” and from the names, I can guess
the 3 are most likely children of William Lewis Knight. However, I have no “Ervin”
in my database. Perhaps this was a middle name that has not been recorded.

A lovely family photograph. The small boy on the left reminds me of an old picture of my dad when he was young - the sticky out ears must have triggered that memory :) Thank you for sharing, Wendy. It's always a joy to delve into your family history. Have a lovely week.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I wonder if that was a scanning problem or if it was just a bad picture to begin with.
DeleteWonderful photo. Middle names and nicknames can be a help and a challenge, I hope it turns out to be the former for you.
ReplyDeleteI suspect it was a middle name. There is a brother that appears in records as "Fulton E." so maybe that "E" was Ervin.
DeleteIt is sad that the lady on the far right got cut off. It makes me think how nice it is today to immediately see what you are getting and to be able to retake if needed.
ReplyDeleteI guess she was maybe Ervin's wife and whoever took the picture or cared about the picture was interested only in the Knights themselves.

Well hey! Nope, I don't know who the girl is but I think it might be Ervin's wife. Whoever labeled the 3 probably cared about the Knight siblings.
