I remember this simple decoration in the dining room: a homemade candle and some live holly stuck into a piece of styrofoam. The candle was made in a milk carton.

Really cute pictures! AndI remember those milk carton candles! We had one too. Once again love the tinsel on the tree--I just do.
ReplyDeleteThat candle had a nice texture. Now I'm trying to remember how they were made. Was there ice involved? I bet YouTube has a video.
DeleteCould my bangs get any shorter??! I see I am holding a bow, I understood the importance of good ribbon back then!
ReplyDeleteWe are sweet together. Fun pictures!
Your bangs could have been shorter if you had called Rusty over. I think this was Momma's work.
DeleteThat was a good bow -- must have been professionally done.
Milk carton candles...that's something I don't remember. Cute pictures Wendy.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't remembered them either until I saw that picture again.
DeleteDon't forget the the GLITTER! Wow, I forgot about making milk carton candles....and yes, you use chipped ice along with a long taper candle. Sweet sister pictures. You two look about the same years apart a me and my sister....ten years.

DeleteIt is a great time of year to look back and remember: tinsel, candles, flowers and most of all the people we love[d].
ReplyDeleteIt really is. I'm doing a lot of "looking back" lately.
