prompt at Geneabloggers that asks family historians to create a post in which
the main focus is a photograph or image.

They are so adorable. (And so is your granddad!)

I wonder why you come up as "Unknown." ??????????
DeleteI think it's wonderful that someone took photographs of your grandfather and his beagles, especially because they were so important to him. So often the important parts of life go by without photographs. He does look happy and pleased with his pups.
ReplyDeleteThat's true -- nobody has taken a picture of me doing genealogy or writing my blog. HA --
DeleteAwwww! I've heard that you can trust someone that loves dogs and kids (and if dogs and kids love them!).
ReplyDeleteThen my granddaddy must have been the most trustworthy man on earth because he did love dogs and kids.
DeleteOh! That third photo is too fun! Those beagle puppies are so busy crowding around your grandfather (and the food) that it's hard to count them. They're just a blur of puppy cuteness.
ReplyDeleteToo bad the picture doesn't come with sound. Can you imagine all the happy barks they were making in that photo?
You're going to be the expert on imbedding audio soon, right? I'm sure we could find a good rendition of puppies barking to bring this photo to life!
DeleteHaha! You're too funny Wendy. No, I'm not going to be the expert on embedding audio. Far from it. But thanks for your vote of confidence. ;)
DeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE the last photo! Makes me smile....I had to put my dog down last week...and I just love dogs. Looks like those pups were loved.
ReplyDeleteOh no -- sorry to hear about your dog. That's a hard thing to do even when it's the humane thing.
DeleteHi Wendy, what fabulous photos, I especially love the first one. We had a Beagle when our son was small, a wonderful dog called Kelly – the problem was Kelly was fond of leaving home! He always came back after 24 hours or so but to this day we don’t know where he went. We even tried chasing after him over fields and bumpy farm tracks (in the family car), but he went places we had no hope of going. We wonder if he had a girlfriend but we really don’t know.
ReplyDeleteMy sister had a beagle named Manzie. Sweetest dog. They have beautiful faces.
DeleteGranddaddy did all the cooking for the beagles. Daddy used to say that the beagles ate better than they did! Right before Daddy died he told me that he had a sign painted for Granddaddy's kennels that was on a post off of Jolliff Road (NOT to be confused with JOLLETT) I never knew that, and I wish we had a picture of the sign!
