Wordless Wednesday is a daily prompt at
Geneabloggers that asks family historians to create a post in which the main
focus is a photograph or image.
What is going on here?
This photo taken at Ocean View in Virginia is from the photo album of my great-aunt Helen Killeen Parker. While there is no date,
most of the photos are from 1918-20.

Does the photograph say 'brother and sister?' Who is the person in the background and why are they holding a shotgun?? The mind boggles.
ReplyDeleteYes, that's what it says. They look a little chummy though. As for Mr Sneaky in the background, I'm sure they all had a big laugh afterwards but there's no picture of what happened next.
DeleteIs that a gun? Strange photo!
ReplyDeleteYeah, can you believe it?? I doubt they made such realistic TOY guns back then, so you gotta wonder!
DeleteI hope he is wearing pants under that shirt! LOL
ReplyDeleteHe does seem to be bucking the style of the day.
DeleteThe guy in the background has me a little worried! ;)
ReplyDeleteWrite a story!
DeleteGotta smile at that one!
ReplyDeleteWow! That really is a curious picture for sure!
ReplyDeletePerfect for Wordless Wednesday....I'm speechless!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think the brother has the gun!
ReplyDeleteNow there's a thought -- "Get your hands off my sister, you pantsless wonder!"
DeleteToo funny! It reminds me of stories my aunt would share about my father hiding in the back seat of her boyfriend's (and later hubby!)car....when they went out on a day! Gotta keep your eyes open!
