Wordless
Wednesday is a daily prompt at Geneabloggers that asks family historians to
create a post in which the main focus is a photograph or image.
When
my dad was stationed aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Eastwind in 1946-47, he took
pictures of his shipmates during tours to Thule, Greenland but didn’t provide
names. Maybe the family of these sailors
will find my blog and share their story.

Interesting pose with the pipes in mouth and hand in jackets!
ReplyDeleteA cross between Popeye and Napoleon, don't you think?
DeleteThe sun appears to be quite bright here, and I wonder do they have really deep tans on their faces? Or perhaps it's just the lighting?
ReplyDeleteUmm, I don't think it's a tan or lighting. I was surprised to see African-Americans on the ship too.
