Wordless Wednesday is a daily prompt at Geneabloggers
that asks family historians to create a post in which the main focus is a
photograph or image.
Senior Baby Day was a tradition at Cradock High School
that lasted well into the 1960s if not later.
Apparently my mother had a camera when she was in high
school in the mid-1940s. Or maybe her friends did. Needless to say, she has
lots of photos of her friends.

Was Baby Day a day for the seniors to dress like a baby? Or was there more to it than that?
ReplyDeleteNope, that's it. As if Seniors needed an excuse to act silly, they looked forward to Baby Day. They dressed in "baby" clothes, wore bibs, carried stuffed animals and rattles. Some were known to ride a wagon to school.
DeleteCute photo!

ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting and fun tradition. So, did they cry like a baby when they got their homework assignments on that day? ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's not a 'day' we would have had here in the UK. I wonder who came up with the idea?
