the main focus is a photograph or image.
This photo of an unidentified woman was among many
pictures passed down to me from my grandaunts Violetta Davis Ryan and Velma
Davis Woodring. She appears to be waiting
for the train at Grove Hill. I wonder if
she was traveling north to Washington DC or simply making a quick trip to the
nearby city of Harrisonburg to shop. She’s
certainly stylish with those button-up shoes and muff.
A lovely photograph that evokes a sense of a small country railway station and, as you say, a stylish woman. . Who took the photograph? What prompted the photograph to be taken in such a setting? . You could weave a short story around that simple image -
