Watching the Wizard of Oz every year was a big deal for me too, and once I married my first hubby and discovered he'd never ever seen it, I couldn't believe it! 21 Witshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00071361755673253230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7429612700924625855.post-33897470927961745982015-08-13T12:35:47.081-04:002015-08-13T12:35:47.081-04:00Very fun post. I can't say I relate well personally as I'm clearly younger than you by a fault, but it's amazing even in my own short lifespan to see how much has changed. I can only imagine what it has been like for you. Nonetheless, I'm a little jealous. Poopdeck Pappy sounded like fun!H.R. I remember shopping for our first TV, a Motorola, when I was about 5, and watching daytime TV (this was before kindergarten) - sitting very close (my folks hadn't yet realized I was terribly nearsighted). My favorite show was (wait for it) "Queen for a Day"!!Sean Bentleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02777191262417995366noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7429612700924625855.post-29898378798051190102015-08-10T06:28:07.991-04:002015-08-10T06:28:07.991-04:00I dn't know many of the shows you mention, but...I dn't know many of the shows you mention, but as a child in the 1960s the Mickey Mouse Club and the Lone Ranger were among my favourites, and I remember my parents watching stuff like Z Cars and Dr Kildare and shooing me off to bed because they weren't 'suitable' for kids.Jofeathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10290597697140624780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7429612700924625855.post-51047921450533213442015-08-09T13:37:54.603-04:002015-08-09T13:37:54.603-04:00I loved the Lennon sisters, too. Before we had a remote channel changer, we had one that was attached to the TV by a cord which my husband insisted on keeping with him. He sat across the room from the TV and anyone needing to go down the hall to the bedrooms, or across to the dining room & kitchen had to be careful to step over the cord or run the risk of tripping. Fortunately the cord-remote period didn't last very long.La Nightingailhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04769079547153094005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7429612700924625855.post-55960206953763039152015-08-07T09:49:57.187-04:002015-08-07T09:49:57.187-04:00I remember we didn't have a TV one time for ab...I remember we didn't have a TV one time for about 6 months when I was growing up.
