Recently I've started to read an excellent history of the post WW1 era, "Paris 1919: Six Months that Changed the World" by Margaret MacMillan. Woodrow Wilson had the heart of a zealot but failed to convince his fellow world leaders that peace could be achieved with democracy over retribution.
