I have not yet determined whether my 2xgreat-grandmother Alice Virginia Nair is the sister of Alpharetta Nair or if they're actually the same person, but here is her obituary:

Mrs. W. H. McRobie, SR.

Mrs. William H. McRobie, Sr., died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bessie Gade, Washington, D. C., on Saturday, March 27. She had been in ill health for about one and one-half years.

She was a daughter of the late Simon P. and Margaret Nair and was aged 78 years. She had been residing with her daughter for the past three years since the death of her husband, W. H. McRobie, which occurred November 2, 1944.

She had been a member of the Pentecostal church at Mt. Lake Park for several years.

Surviving are one son, W. H. McRobie, Jr., of Mt. Lake Park; two daughters, Mrs. Gade, Washington; and Mrs. Earl Shultz, Sumter, S. C.; also five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, March 30, at 4 o’clock from the Bolden Funeral Home with Rev. Roy A. McCauley, Davis, W. Va., officiating. Interment was in the Oakland cemetery. Pallbearers were Ralph Weber, Edward Kahl, James Compton, C. P. Martin, Harry Turney and D. But, somehow the geek in me likes family lists. I also am interested in those who never make it to the next census. These are the forgotten people who never really existed or so it seems. I have some family that disappears and I wonder who they were and what their stories were.
